The 4th of July

We went on a last minute trip to St. George to be with Taylor, Samira, and Baby Will for the 4th.  Mimi was here, and flying home the day before she planned to drive down to St. G, so she added you to her flight and you went with her.  Mainly so I'd only have to do the drive once with both kids.  Dad couldn't come because of work.  Mimi reported that you did great on the flight.  And you actually did fine on the drive home too. Fingers crossed we've reached a new phase in life of peaceful road trips.

We we to a breakfast on the 4th, and tried to go to a parade, but it was too dang hot.  So the four day vacation was spent either in the air conditioned house, or playing in the water.  And you were just fine with that!

You love your little cousin. Last time we saw him he was at the hospital, and I think it made you a little nervous to be there.  But this time, seeing him in his own home, you were all over him.
We lit some fireworks in the driveway, and tried to take a picture of ourselves, but the flash was too bright for both of us!

You slept a lit of the drive home.  And you were happy when you were awake, just the way I like to travel.

Utah for Great Strides

We went to Utah for Great Strides, Mimi's 60th birthday, and also to see your cousin William who was in the hospital in Salt Lake.  He was flown there just a few days before we planned to be going, so we went a couple days early to be with family.  You did better on this drive than you have before.  Maybe 18 months is the magical age!

Checking out the fish at the hospital.

I think all the cords and wires overwhelmed you a little.  You were very curious about William, but didn't get too close.  You eventually warmed up and would tickle his toes.

It rained the morning of Great Strides, so you stayed in the ESA for a while to keep warm and dry.  Then Aunt Laura brought you some warm clothes.  I never pack right for our Utah trips.

Whatever you did that morning wore you out.  You fell asleep right after, and stayed asleep when we got you out of that car.  I can count on one hand the number of times that's happened in your life.  You're such a light sleeper!
It also rained at Mimi's Luau party.  But you still had fun.

Who cares if it's raining when there's cake to be eaten!?!

You couldn't reach the drink dispenser, so Garrett would fill his cup up, then pour it in your cup for you.
No matter how you feel about him someday years down the road when you may be reading this, I get to see everyday how much he loves you, and I know he does.

The drive home went really well with s few pit stops, like this one at Bass Pro Shop.  You're getting better and better at road trips, sleeping in new places, and changes to our normal routine, and I'm thankful for that!

Dana Point

We went to Dana Point for the weekend a couple of weeks ago with the White family.  You had a lot of fun just going with the flow.  You slept great, thankfully.  You've become a challenge when it comes to sleeping anywhere but your own crib so I was a little worried, but you did fine.

You loved the beach.  This was the first time that you've really enjoyed playing in the sand.  You usually try to keep your feet out of it and you are cautious about touching it.  But this sand was the softest and cleanest I've ever seen, and I think you noticed too, because you loved it.

And then it was home and back to our own beds.
